Special Limited Partner Uriel S. Sokolov is a former Senior Fellow at Raytheon Company, a Fortune 500 defense and aerospace firm, and has held positions as Director of Business Ventures in Raytheon's Electronic Systems New Ventures Organization and Vice President, Medical, Biotech and Biometrics for Raytheon Commercial Ventures, Inc.
Dr. Sokolov has participated in numerous joint ventures, strategic alliances, acquisitions and divestitures including transactions involving Hoechst, Lurgi, Mitsubishi and Sato Metals. Dr. Sokolov has previously served as Department Head, Energy Systems and later as Manager of Market Planning and Business Development at NL Industries, a Fortune 500 conglomerate with major holdings in chemicals, metals and petroleum services; as Manager of Business Development at Occidental Petroleum, a Fortune 500 energy company; and as a product development manager at GTE, a Fortune 500 telecommunications company. Dr. Sokolov holds an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University as well as Master of Science degrees in physical chemistry and biochemistry and a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He completed his post-doctoral training at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center under sponsorship by the National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Sokolov has lectured on contemporay issues in venture capital at the London Business School, taught graduate-level physical chemistry at Hebrew University of Jerusalem and currently serves on the Science Education Advisory Board of the University of California, Irvine. |
